The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum is currently in the process of restoring a 1955 Mack LTL. There were only 2,009 of these Mack LTL’s built from 1947 to 1956.  This Mack was built in 1955 for Downey Trucking in Downey, California.  A 34” aluminum sleeper was added by the Los Angeles Mack branch, and later removed for the truck’s conversion to oil field use.   When Iowa 80 acquired this truck, it was used on tough wrecker calls that required three wrecker trucks.  This truck has a 235 hp … Read More

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum now has a Paymaster Truck on loan from the American Truck Historical Society for a limited time. There were only 14 Paymaster Trucks produced from 1970 to 1980. This specific truck is one of 10 that were produced for Ryder, between 1974 and 1975. The Paymaster was designed to be more versatile, improve the ride for the driver, and reduce labor costs through a simpler engine design with easy to replace components. The Museum has two trucks turning 100 years old! A 1912 Saurer, the only American made Saurer known to still exit, and a 1912 Mack Jr. During The Walcott Truckers Jamboree, the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum hosted a 100th birthday party for these two incredible antiques. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum is now part of the "Blue Star Museums": a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,500 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2012. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will welcome area boy scouts to learn about trucking history on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 12:00p.m. The Boy Scouts will have a chance to earn the Transportation Merit Badge while attending this event. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum's Newly restored 1937 Mack AC and 1946 White WA22 went on a road trip! They were on display June 8th and 9th at the Oak Grove Truckers Jamboree in Oak Grove, Missouri. The Oak Grove Truckers Jamboree is hosted every year at the Oak Grove 70 Petro, I-70 Exit 28, Oak Grove, Missouri. On Tuesday June 5th, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum hosted its first ever Classic Movie Night. The movie Convoy, was shown in the REO Theatre.  Admission to the event was by donation only, and was a success! The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum displayed the 1937 Mack AC and 1946 White WA22 on display at the ATHS  (American Truck Historical Society) National Convention and Antique Truck Show in West Springfield, Massachusetts last weekend. Here are the amazing trucks all lined up and ready for the show. Click here for more information.

-The Museum will be open 7 days a week starting Monday May 28th, 2012. The hours of operation will be Monday thru Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 pm. to 5:00 p.m. After Labor Day (September 3rd, 2012) the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will return to the regular hours of operation from Wednesday thru Sunday.
