Trucking Company Hat Pins

Many trucking companies of the 20th century would provide their drivers with hat pins to wear while they were on duty. Many of them, like the state-issued chauffeur badges (learn more here), contain a unique driver identification number. In some cases, they even include the driver’s name. Other hat pins simply indicated the trucking company’s name. You’ll see that several pins in this collection were given to drivers as a reward for safe driving. These were awarded after a number of years or a set amount of miles traveled. This collection was provided by a generous donation from Al Koenig of Rochester, MN.
