1929 International Harvester HS 104 C
Engine Type:
Hall Scott 4-Cylinder Model 152 Engine
Transmission Type:
International 6-Speed
Truck Information:
This 1929 International Harvester HS 104C is one of the 86 International made of this model that year. They made a total of 50,000 trucks in 1929, so this was a rare truck even when it was new. The truck has a Hall-Scott four-cylinder gas engine, a six-speed International transmission, and mechanical brakes. The Jaeger cement mixer on the back will hold two yards – or four tons – of concrete; it is powered by a small Hercules engine. This truck sold new for $5,500 in 1929, which is the equivalent of about $80,000 today. A modern mixer truck will hold ten yards of concrete – or twenty tons – and in today’s money it costs about three times as much. That’s five times more concrete hauled at about three times the speed for three times the price. Top Speed: 25 MPH
