Trucks on Display

Below is a sampling of the many trucks on display in our Trucking Hall of Fame® Exhibit Hall.

1969 Peterbilt 359

Truck Information:
Is there a more iconic rig than the Peterbilt 359? Although first introduced more than 50 years ago in 1967, the 359 looks right at home on the road today. There’s a good reason for that – Peterbilt continues to use it as the blueprint for its modern flagship trucks. Compare this 50-year-old truck to a modern Peterbilt 389. Unless you’re a trucking enthusiast, there’s a good chance that you won’t be able to distinguish between the two. Back in their day, these trucks were the Cadillacs of the road. 359s were driver-centric vehicles in an era where profit margins and load sizes often came before driver safety and comfort. The trademark long hood allowed for an impressive array of engine and transmission options, and these vehicles were highly customizable straight from the factory. Cabs were large for the time and Peterbilt offered several sleeper options as well. Aftermarket accessories made even more modification and personalization a simple task.
