Below are many of the trucks on display in our Trucking Hall of Fame® Exhibit Hall.
1996 Freightliner COE
Engine Type:
450 Diesel 6 Cylinder Caterpillar
Truck Information:
This truck was restored to its current state by a former mechanic of Consolidated Freightways. Gerard Routhier of Tewksbury, MA started his career with CF in 1970 and was employed in their Boston, MA terminal until they closed in 2002. Although Gerard would continue to work in trucking, his love for CF never far from his mind. He dreamed of restoring equipment from the Consolidated Freightways era and was able to find two trailers in Massachusetts and the tractor in 2020 in Claxton, GA, and an original CF dolly was found in Elizabethtown, KY in 2021. Gerard completed the restoration in the Local 25 Teamsters tractor trailer school yard during weekends and evenings after work. The restoration of this COE completed in June of 2021, and he drove it in a few parades over the next few years. Gerard donated this truck to the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum in the fall of 2024, where it can be treasured for generations to come. Top Speed: 65 MPH
