1957 Ford T800 Big Job

Engine Type:
Ford V8 332 Cubic Inch Gasoline (3.80 Inch Bore and 3.66 Inch Stroke)

Transmission Type:
15-Speed Twin Stick

Truck Information:
This medium-duty 1957 Ford T800 was bought brand new at Walch Ford in Elkader, Iowa in 1957 by JC Costigan Construction Company. The company built bridges, golf courses, and farm ponds. They also cleared trees. This truck always hauled a 1956 Cat D-6 dozer and track type cranes. This was a pretty big truck for 1957, but with only 332 cubic inches pulling a D6 Cat, it would not have gone anywhere fast; thankfully it had a 15-speed transmission. After many years of work, it was retired in 1970 with 65,000 miles on it to the original owner's farm for the purpose of moving his dozer as needed. It was then sold to Merlin Anderson, an employee who had driven it for the construction company. This truck is on loan from Mr. Anderson's three sons - Danny, Mike, and Greg Anderson of Pine Island, MN - who restored it in memory of their father. These trucks are not very common anymore because they were all worked to death. Once they were used up, they'd be left somewhere to rust until they met the cutting torch. It's nice to see one of these '57 Fords restored and well-cared for. Top Speed: 55 MPH
