1963 Ford F600

Engine Type:
292 V8 Y Block

Transmission Type:
4-Speed T-98A

Truck Information:
Part of Ford’s fourth generation F-Series, the 1963 F600 was a popular-priced, medium duty truck, known for its reliability and durability. With a John Deere corn sheller attached to the bed, this F600 acted as a stationary combine. After picking and drying their corn, farmers would use a mobile sheller like this to remove kernels from the cob. This corn sheller from John Deere allowed farmers to shell up to 20 acres of corn in a single day. During the shelling process, the truck would idle. Dust and other small particles would be released into the air while the shelling took place, and the rotating screen cage on the front grille was used to protect the truck’s radiator or engine from being clogged.
