1932 Chevrolet Master Wrecker

Engine Type:
Chevrolet 207 Cubic Inch

Transmission Type:
Chevrolet 4-Speed

Truck Information:
This 1½-ton capacity truck had the same basic engine style from 1929 to 1984. It was known as the “stovebolt six” because the bolts holding the engine together were the same as the ones commonly used to assemble woodstoves. Engine options for these trucks ranged from 194 to 292 cubic inches. The Chevrolet brand was on all major components, including the rear axle. This 1932 Chevy Wrecker came from Belle Plaine, Iowa where it was used until the 1960s. Though it couldn’t tow a big truck out of a ditch, it could pull out any car. It’s gone a total of 66,216 miles over the years. The winch on this wrecker was hand cranked. Imagine that! Trucks were simple back then. They would have an odometer, speedometer, an amp meter, and a water temperature gauge – that was it. Top Speed: 35 MPH
