Truck Information:
A medium-duty, gasoline-powered truck like this 1948 Mack would have been a local delivery truck for short hauls. The Mack bulldog is on the radiator; it has a butterfly hood and a two-man cab, but not much for creature comforts. There is a single transmission in this truck, along with a single-speed rear end, so this truck was not built to haul loads across mountains. But this truck does have some nice chrome; you wouldn't have seen that a few years earlier during World War II. The two-piece fender is an interesting and complicated design. The turn signals on this truck are somewhat fancy; they have an arrow that flashes. This is a good example of the evolution of truck design in the period after World War II. There are old features like the butterfly hood and fenders, as well as new features like the chrome and turn signals. Top Speed: 65 MPH
